On 18^th march, the first ever “skate on the Square” kicked off, filling Discovery Quay with hot dogs, plenty of cold drinks, live music from local bands and skaters who were ready for anything.

         Organised by Force Majeure Falmouth the event welcomed all, with goodies supplied by Volcom, Nixon watches, Gravis and others.

The skaters were divided into two groups with Tristan Chart rockin’ first place for the under 16’s, joined by Jacob Anderson and Jamie Perry in second and third. In the over 16’s, Matt Perrin was a clear winner whilst Dan Perkins and Robin Jameson also impressed the judges as they joined Perrin on the podium.

          Local bands like “Needle in the Red”, “Nato” and “Queens Council” also gave an impressive performance on stage.

2007 saw the launch of REBUS COLLECTIVE, two local graph artists, producing tee’s and sweats for men and ladies. Force Majeure love the product and the local connection, we just had to stock it.

REBUS  have too much energy, not content with a new clothing line, the guys are involved, around the country in events, leading to their own event , DEADLY DRIPS, which we are pleased in our small way to support.

DEADLY DRIPS, hosted in BAR 200 (next door to our Truro store), is a competition for Cornwall’s finest street artist. Armed with a marker pen each round sees two contestants’ battle it out on a 20 ft wall, the crowd decides if the contestants’ talent is sufficient to see them through to the next round.

To add to the visual extravaganza, resident DJ’s T-DILLA (a member of the Force Majeure team) and Chewy have been spinning the best in HIP HOP and FUNK, along with resident lyricist DR G Style and the 3c’s, a break dance crew from Cornwall.

 Starting the month with a bang, we invited local graffiti artist Hamish (Mish) and Tom (Rebz) from the rebus collective to paint up our windows with there graphical styles, working hard from 11am till midnight, with paints, pens, sprays and airbrushes, creating this master piece, great work boys!

 We like to give special thanks to Volcom, Carhartt, Gravis, Analog, and Monster for supplying materials and funds to make this all possible.
